Previous Educational Projects
- In July 2004 the Trust was involved in a major East London educational and community based project funded by the PRS Foundation, the Waltham Forest Arts Council and the London Borough of Waltham Forest. The project titled If Walthamstow Market Could Sing was commissioned from the composer Juwon Ogungbe with funds from Arts Council London. The project involved four schools from the Higham Hill area of Walthamstow as well as several community music ensembles from East London.
- This was followed by Revisiting If Walthamstow Market Could Sing in 2005/6.
- In Praise of Our Families was an educational project which took place in the London Borough of Waltham Forest, in 2008.
Unheard Voices I and II. Performances took place on 26 March 2009 and on 8 July 2009 with students from 10 primary and secondary schools from the London borough of Waltham Forest at the Walthamstow Assembly Hall.
These performances followed an eight-week classroom based music project within each of the 10 schools, led by composer Juwon Ogungbe and supported by the musicians of Lontano.
